The Right Thing to Do

Do the Right Thing as it is the thing to do
But what defines the right thing?
It what you decide your Actions should be
But what about Society and Common Standards ?
Follow Common Sense
But that is so subjective and we need an absolute
Why ?
Cause then it is order and not chaos
As with an Absolute I am clear and sure of what is my path.
Ok so we are discussing Standards or are we discussing rules ?
Well - If we are not discussing rules then if someone decides not to do things by Society or common standards then we cant hold them accountable
So then aren't we discussing "Laws" - And the concept now is that if we break a law - there should be some form of punishment meted out ?
I suppose so as if we don’t have that deterrent it would be chaos and it would not be Fair .
Ok I just want to be clear on some of this context
The Intent is to be FAIR to society and other Individuals ?
Yes ok so we are now talking about laws and then if we don’t follow them we should be accountable ? And there should be a consequence ?

What do we base these laws on ?
History - A legal system already exists
Ok so then doing the Right thing is already Covered by the Law ?
Yes but this instance is not
So we need to incorporate it into the Law ?
Yes - that’s it how do I do that
And with this instance comes a punishment ?
Yes as that would make it Fair
So you want a process that if you don’t do a Right thing you need to be held accountable and get a Suitable Punishment ?
Yes
But we have that now don’t we - With the Legal System ?
